Remote couples often rely on convenient technologies like video calls to stay connected, but these tools fall short in conveying intimacy. Lavender Haze bridges this gap by creating a shared ambient experience through touch, light, and scent.

inspiration
Lavender Haze describes the dreamy, all-encompassing feeling of being in love. This project brings that sensation to long-distance relationships, creating intimacy across distance.

concept
A soft, squeeze-sensitive home device designed to help remote couples feel close through gentle, shared touch rather than explicit communication.

When one partner holds the device, it emits a soft purple glow, signaling presence and inviting connection on the other side.

When both partners touch their devices at the same time, the light grows brighter and transitions in color, marking a moment of mutual engagement.

This shared action warms a hidden lavender wax core, leaving a soft scent on the hand and in the space, creating a quiet moment of warmth and closeness across distance.

How it works
Synchronous actions hold greater meaning for remote couples, as shared gestures create a stronger sense of presence. We support both single- and dual-sided interactions.

To simulate a real, comforting touch, the interface combines a heating pad with a soft wool cover. The light is enclosed in a translucent white shell, softly diffusing the glow to create a gentle, inviting ambiance.
